[Has Silver been able to find his Pokédex in the item shop yet? No. What he has found, however, is definitely a nice consolation prize. He definitely didn't forget about the book Green let him borrow. How could he? Green wanted him to decipher something from his father's book about a trade evolution. His senior, his father, trade evolutions. It's pretty hard to catch his interest better than that.

So Silver settled down just outside of House 15, perfectly content to read and reread his father's book ("Secret Earth Arts"? Sure, it gets the point across, but that's a pretty boring title...,) share cherry tomatoes with his Pokémon, and continue to hold his middle finger up to socializing. Until something hits him, anyway. It was a simple thought, really. The concept of Pokémon trading was pretty obsolete without Pokémon to trade, even if it's something so vital and important to him. ...But "trading" as a whole wasn't. Exchanging currency, goods, information, services... What kind of things did people consider of enough value to be worth trading to someone, anyway?

It's a good question, it's something Silver wants to know, and at the end of the day, his curiosity wins out over loathing the idea of having to ask a bunch of strangers a broad question and hoping for interesting answers. Even if he isn't big on people, he's definitely big on information, especially on such a giant Oh well, at least he only has to write.]

So what things do you consider valuable, and what kind of things are generally considered valuable back in your worlds?

[He'll leave his journal open on his lap and start reading through his book again, occasionally looking down at the journal. Sneasel decides to watch all of this from over Silver's shoulder.

Later on in the day, Silver and Sneasel venture out into the forest in search of... well, exactly what they're looking for might be a little unclear. What is clear is that they're climbing up plenty of trees and looking for something. ...And that they're experienced in swiftly climbing up trees.]

In my world, criath has a lot of value. Criath are special minerals that contain arles, our force of life. If you live in an area rich with criath, crops will prosper. They can also be added to machines to enhance them. The power of arles makes a very strong weapon.

[She pauses her writing for a moment.] However, such a thing holds no value to me. What I treasure most are memories of the people who are precious to me.

[...ohai, Silver. You're outside? Shocking.]

[Memories. Okay, he can understand that. ...But right now, discussion of minerals and a life force capture his attention a lot better.] Does arles ever fade from Craith, or is it a constant resource? How durable and hard of a mineral is it?

[Huh- oh. He turns around and looks down at Nagisa, as does Sneasel.] ...Exploring. The forest here is really different from what I'm used to back at home. [Which is true; there's simply one detail in specific that's really catching his attention right now.]

[ Martel paused in silence when she read the question. A moment passes before she finally formulates her answer. ]

The World Tree is considered valuable in my world.

[What's that? Lean forward and place some pressure on his leg? Okay.]

It's a source of mana. In my world, mana is what sustains life so it's important that the tree doesn't wither and die.

In the trees? [...] That sounds like fun! But dangerous, too... Be careful!

[And then she notices his Pokemon.] Umm, what's that animal that's with you?

[...But trees aren't that-] Sneasel. He's one of my Pokémon.

Is anything done to protect the tree?

[You can fall! Or get a splinter! Or fly into a tree like George of the Jungle!]

Pokemon? Is that a type of animal? I've never heard of that species before!

Ah, yes. There's a spirit guardian and another who are supposed to protect the tree.

[ And that spirit so happens to be her but she'll keep that fact to herself. ]

They're the animals of my world. [In the most bare bone of explanations.]

[Works well enough.] Ohh, I see! Are they friendly? [Though Sneasel seems to be perfectly fine around Silver... But maybe there are some aggressive ones!]

[A tree with a spirit guardian? That sounds similar to...] What's the spirit guardian called? What can they do?

It depends on the Pokémon and the situation.

Are there a lot of different kinds of them?

No way. You've blown my freakin' mind. [Does the intense sarcasm burn, Silver.]
