[So Silver is making another move. He's no cowardly old man.]

[Inner victory aside, Shikamaru just hums in approval and makes his move.

It's not the expected one, an attack it looked like he was setting up for a few turns. Rather it's that Knight he got into position so long ago, nearly forgotten. He moves it out now, and the game is over.]

[It's not something completely unexpected; he realized it about a turn before he was ready to give up, which was already far too late. Shikamaru out thought and out predicted him, and now all he can do is figure out the best way to last for another few turns and make a final impact.

...Of course, judging by his track record, Shikamaru has this all figured out already, doesn't he?]

[This was one of the outcomes he predicted earlier on, it's true. Half of the fun for him though is to see which ones are chosen, and how long it takes to reach them. The surprises on the way always makes thing more interesting.

But yeah, his defenses are rock solid at this point. Shouldn't be much longer.]

[Nope, not much longer. Within a few more turns, Silver's completely out of moves.]

And that's checkmate. [There's a click of a shogi tile.] You did pretty good, you know.

[Yeah yeah rub it in he'll do better next-

...Time...? Is this praise?]

[Like he ever gives it lightly, gosh. He's already moving on, cleaning up the board.]

Rain hasn't stopped yet. We can play a different game, or do something else?

[...Shrug. Totally up to you, dude.]

[If it were up to him he'd laze around all day.]

[...Ugh, lazing around. How do you manage to do that for long periods of time?]

[By enjoying every awesome second of it. No one should be so chill rearranging shogi pieces.]

But no seriously. Silver has more than given him the impression that he's not the type to enjoy simple things, like cloud watching and board games. Shikamaru doesn't want to influence the decision here.]

This game works better if you have someone on the sidelines to spin this thing. [He gives it a flick.] Luckily I can cover that.

[...Or he can just let Sneasel out. Don't question how he's going to spin that thing with his giant pawclaws. Just don't.

Or you can let one of your Pokemon out.

[YUP PICKING UP ON THIS BRACKET CONVERSATION THING. And he will nudge the shogi board aside to make room on the floor now.]

...Actually, he's going to let Murkrow out to chill too. Feraligatr unfortunately has to stay in his ball because he's god damn huge.]
