[Well, now that they're at the top, it's time to address the matter at hand.

Gold scoots around on his stomsch to try and face Silver now.]

Judgin' by that shiner of yours... You ran into that doppelganger Silver, didn't you?

[...He would be lying if he said he didn't see this coming.]

I'm better off than he is.

No doubt about that. He makes you look like a model citizen.

[tsuntrader]

He's a giant brat. He would make just about anyone look like a model citizen.

[mischiefbreeder]

He's leagues worse than you were when I first met you.

[No offense.]

[tsuntrader]

You weren't a walk in the park yourself.

[mischiefbreeder]

Yeah, yeah. Point is, that guy's way worse.

[tsuntrader]

[...It's at this point that it's a struggle to keep calm. He quickly tenses up and clenches his fist. The cold and detached expression and tone that Silver tends to fall back on is only barely containing his anger; even then, it completely fails to meet his eyes.]

He thinks Pokémon are just tools.

[mischiefbreeder]

[Likewise, it takes all Gold has to hold back his anger, and that's only because no matter how much it bothers him, it bothers Silver way more.]

...Hits too close to home, doesn't it.

[tsuntrader]

[It makes him angry and sick to think about. Tools. He thinks his Pokémon are tools. He thinks his Sneasel is nothing but a thing that can be discarded and replaced, as well as the rest of his Pokémon.]

I can't catch a break. What else is new?

That's just your lot in life, dude. You're the wheel of fortune's roadkill.

[That's putting it lightly.] Tell me something I don't know.

At least you realize it.

[tsuntrader]

Of course I do. I get regular reminders of it every time I ignore it. [...You know what, he's just going to sigh and bury his face in his arms. That sounds like a nice option right now.]

[mischiefbreeder]

[A groan.]

It just doesn't sit right with me. He's a petty little brat, he doesn't care about his Pokémon...

He doesn't even know a Blue.

Seriously. Who's gonna pick fights with him over who gets the last pancake or compete with him to see who can hold their breath for the longest? [That's much better.]

Or tell him when he's bein' a moron over some stupid insignificant thing. [Hint hint, Silver.]

Yeah, yeah, I get it. [Gold's right. This isn't something important to get worked up about. A little annoyed, a little sentimental, but nothing more than that. It's some stupid insignificant thing.]

[Gold starts to get up now, brushing off his shorts.]

...Heh, I bet the guy's got some annoying girl as a rival instead.
