There's no reason not to have both on hand.

[But Silver formulating plans and setting up awesome shit for battles is the best. Especially when your opponent is not as perceptive as you!]

I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve, if that's what you're getting at. [It's not like he's going into the battle completely unprepared.]

There's something to be said for setting up your opponent before they can realize what you're planning.

[Silver immediately goes into his dresser and pulls out his father's book... Which is full of papers, sticky notes, and little markers. It's a bit of a mess. He's quick to sit down on his bed and immediately flip through the pages.]

[Green will remain standing, waiting to hear what he had to say.

He's not too surprised to see Giovanni's book come out.]

Rhydon definitely evolves by trade. The catch is that he has to be holding an item while being traded. [He holds out a sketch that looks like...

this thing. It wasn't that difficult to draw because of its simplicity.]

It's called a protector.

[By trade! It makes sense that you pieced it together, then. He takes a look at the sketch, thinking about whether or not he had seen the item before. Which he had not.]

I've never run into an item like that. Have you tested this out before?
