Really important. So important, in fact, that he's pulling out his journal right this minute to bring it up until just waiting until he sees Gold. He would try to filter it to him, but whatever, like he cares.

So his journal is out, and for once, he's actually using his voice... Because he lost all his pencils. Whoops. Whatever, this is best said and not written anyway.]

Hey Gold, don't you think it's about time we had a battle? It's been way too long. [...No, too simple. Too friendly. Not... Challenging enough. Yeah, that's it.]

Of course, we both know that there's no way you'd beat me in a million years, so if you're not up for it, no hard feelings.

Then what would you teach them about Pokémon?

What everyone knows. Types, weaknesses, strengths, species. As much as I could.

[You forget who you're talking to here.]

What would you start with? [Oh, he knows exactly who he's talking to. He's talking to long winded mc blah blah miss knowledgeable, thorough, and detailed.]

Well, I'd go into an explanation of what Pokemon are. Specifically, species and types. That makes it easier to figure out weaknesses and strengths. [She'll set up a plan for you, Silver. A big, long, lecture.]

Hm? What is it?

They don't need to know about every type and species right off the bat. They only need to know their strengths and weaknesses and the ones immediately relevant to them.

Telling them all about every Pokémon won't help them learn to react in unfamiliar situations, either. They need to learn to pinpoint an enemy's strengths and weaknesses through observation with limited or no prior information.

As much as I'd like to see them learn about Pokémon more traditionally, it's important to focus on getting them to bond, cooperate, trust, and learn to be in sync with their Pokémon. They need to know their strengths and limits. This is more for practical applications than casual or league battling. They won't be battling many trainers here, if any other than each other.

But in order to explain the strengths and weaknesses, we'll need to at least touch the surface of the types. And I'm not saying we have to go into detail about every single Pokemon. To help pinpoint such things, we'll have to start them off with a few simple battles with each other. And from what I've seen of some of them, they do bond with their Pokemon. I explained that to a lot of them when I first arrived here. We just need to give them a bit more time to open up sine they're not used to this sort of thing.

[...He has a very different style of doing things from Crys. That in tandem with a different agenda, already accomodating to their juniors' style of doing things, and preferring to do things on his own in the first place aren't leaving him very inclined to cooperate on this issue.

...But he has to work together with Crys, doesn't he? Still-] This isn't something to discuss over the journals.

... you're right. [They should try to discuss this in person and come up with a plan for these guys.]

[You will be waiting for quite some time then, Crys. Training is an all day thing. It's only once the sun is starting to set that Silver finally wanders into the house and straight to the kitchen.

[Because it's really late. Smiles are nice, though.]

Long. [And. Well. For Silver? That's saying something.]

[Eh, she's used to it.] Want anything? [Because you must be tired, man.]

[What was that? Silver couldn't hear you over stepping into the kitchen. He does look back to see if Crys is following him, at least.] I've got it.

[Yes, she will follow.] Okay, then. Just let me know when you're done so we can talk about what to teach the juniors.

[Nod. You know what sounds nice right now? A sandwich. Let's make a sandwich.]

I've already been training with Masaomi for around a month.

[You do that.] But what about the others? I don't think you and Gold can handle all of them.

[tsuntrader]

[...Shrug.] It's not like there's something more important to do.

Well, not really, but you guys can't just take the whole load yourselves. There are others of us here, we can help.
