[Well, there's a pair of footprints he recognizes. Time to follow them.]

[The footsteps stop... At the edge of the barrier. Mewtwo can be thanked for that. Silver's at the edge of it, sitting in the snow next to Sneasel with his back against a tree. He idly pokes his foot at the barrier, as if it will suddenly let him through if he keeps doing it for long enough.]

[Guess that explains that.]

...So this is where you went.

[Oh. Hi Gold.] Go away.

I'm here to talk. So I'm not goin' anywhere.

I'm not here to listen. So go away.

Then don't listen. But I'm still gonna talk.

I don't want to hear it, Gold.

I thought we established that. I don't care. Go ahead and tune everything out if you want. But I'm here to talk, whether you're willin' to give me the time of day or not.

[He doesn't plan on budging.]

[He stands up and looks at Gold, eye to eye. Sure, he's shorter than Gold, but whatever.

He stays still for a moment... Before giving him a shove and walking away.]

[Wow, rude. Ruuuuude.

Gold is now reaching out and grabbing Silver's shoulder, tightly.]

[...Fine, fine, he's listening. But he definitely doesn't look happy about it. If anything, he looks more irritated than before.]

[Gold lets go of Silver's shoulder now as he speaks to him.]

...It's not about the Malnosso, or helpin' them out, or any of that. I don't care what they want. All I care about is what I want.

And what I want is to find a way home, outta this place. Not just for me, but for Yellow, and Masaomi, and Shuri, and Shikamaru, and you and--

[He pauses, before he gets ahead of himself.]

...And if that means I gotta do whatever it takes to find that way, then that's just the way it is. And if it means I might be able to take my friends back with me, then that's just fine!

[Silver listens to him and lets him finish. Once he's done...

Silver shoves him once again and resumes walking away.]

[Gold doesn't bother to go after Silver, not yet. He stays firmly planted where he is.]

...So that's it. You're not gonna even say anything? Not even gonna just call me a moron?

[Nope. Not gonna say anything or even slow down or stop. Sneasel follows him, but he does glance at Gold with a worried look, at least for a moment.]

[Gold grits his teeth as Silver walks away.]

At least I'm tryin' to do somethin'... What're you tryin' to do about all this, huh, Silver? [And then he tightly clenches his fist.]

Huh?!

Shut up.

[His words are harsh, cold, and sharper than Sneasel's claws. Even as he speaks, he doesn't bother to stop or turn around, but he definitely clenches his fists to the point where his nails would be digging into his palms if he didn't have his gloves.]

[Normally, such cold words from Silver would stop Gold in his tracks.

...But not this time. This time, it only prompts him to walk straight towards Silver.]

[...Which only prompts Silver to stop and stare at Gold. Normally, at this point, he'd be very clearly angry.

This time, his expression is cold and detached.] What part of "I don't want to talk to you" wasn't clear?

Fine, then don't talk. Big surprise there. It's not like you to ever talk about things that're botherin' you.

[He winces, glancing away from Silver as he says that.]
