This post is for threading with tsuntrader anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals to get in contact with him for personal conversations.
Oh. [It must hurt, if he doesn't even want to go far enough to reach the kitchen.]
May I look at it? I'm a healer, I could at least do something to help with the pain. [As she puts on her working face, most of the traces of her exhaustion hidden behind a concerned inquiry.
The difference is that this time, Silver's free to refuse without her pushing him.]
...Alright. He takes- no, yanks his boot off in one swift motion, because while pulling it off this way hurts more, it hurts and then it's gone. From there, he rolls his pant leg up and pulls his sock off, revealing a bandage that goes from a little above his ankle to a little below his knee.
It's at that point that he hesitates for a moment before slowly undoing some of the bandage, gradually revealing a series of deep and nasty puncture wounds from a bite from a shift hunter. Honestly, he's lucky he has a leg at all, let alone a leg without a completely shattered bone. He's been taking care of it the best he can with basic first aid, and it looks well done enough, but that only makes it slightly less awful looking. Some of it's bleeding again from Silver forcing his leg to do more than it would like. Whoops.]
...It's not as bad as it looks. [Nice save there, Silver. You're really convincing.]
[She jumped at the way he treated his boot, and the length of that bandage bothers her. When he takes some of it off, it's years of practice that keep her from making a sound or too terrible of a face. That looks awful. And it's bleeding - and how long ago was this? He should have seen a doctor.
Almost none of that comes across in her movements as she moves his hands aside and unwraps the rest of the bandage to get a look at everything.] No wonder you're in pain. [He'll be luckier still if it isn't infected or already causing permanent damage.]
...One of those baskers bit me. ...Shift hunters. [Did he really get it to start bleeding again from helping out Shikamaru? Ugh, he should have just- should've could've would've. Whatever. He's here now. It's gonna get better. No regrets.]
[Is Sneasel back? Mia will ask him to get her a towel from wherever they keep the towels, because no blood on the sofa or all over either of them, okay? Okay.]
Did you do anything other than bandaging this? [It's important. Animal bites are serious business, those things might be even worse. She has a feeling he won't listen if she orders him to the battledome for actual treatment.]
[Sneasel is indeed back! Order away. Feraligatr and Murkrow are willing to help out too.]
I made sure it was completely flushed out, disinfected, and kept cold to avoid too much swelling before bandaging it. I've been making sure it's clean and replacing the bandages every day. [I've been taking care of it. It's not the first time he's had to take care of something like this, after all...]
[That earns him a relieved smile. Knowing that he's done so much settles her mind.]
Good. I'm glad to hear it. [It's still a nasty bite, and though she's hardly at full strength, she wants to heal as much of it as she possibly can even if it means she works slowly.
When Sneasel comes back with the towel, she unfolds it on the cushion beside her and slides over a bit more. Turn and put your leg up there instead, Silver. Meanwhile she'll ask the pokémon to get her fresh bandages.]
[...He's quick to do it without protesting the matter, and his Pokémon are quick to listen. That... Doesn't stop him from feeling bad, though. Or awkward. Or uncomfortably vulnerable.]
...Sorry. [How exhausted she looks hasn't gone unnoticed.]
[Teasing, just teasing. Mia takes a long slow breath, holding one gloved hand on either side of his leg.]
This doesn't hurt. You probably won't see much happening. [Psynergy is weird like that. With another breath, Mia closes her eyes and starts working. It should feel good - like cold water, without being wet - but she's taking her time. Going too fast will just have her passing out on his couch, not the plan.]
[It's taking her much longer than usual. Deep punctures like this are complicated anyway, and she doesn't want to rush and have him end up causing himself damage later. She's also tired; after about five solid minutes of working, she opens her eyes and frowns, sitting up straighter.]
I'm not finished yet, so don't move. ...You're lucky that bite didn't break anything. [There are a few tiny cracks - something he would feel as just pain, that will heal fine on their own if he takes it easy. She doesn't have the energy to touch them.]
[She starts again before Sneasel gets back. It's easier because of what she's already done, but harder because Psynergy doesn't regenerate nearly as fast here as it does outside the barrier. This time it's slower; she won't be able to heal the wounds all the way, and she knew that going in, but it still feels like she's failed a bit.
They're not nearly so deep and a few of them look like they're weeks old by the time she stops again, turning a careful eye to the worst of them one last time. Then she rests one finger gently on top of Silver's shin, about halfway down.]
You'll need to be careful for a week or two. There are small cracks here, and here - [lower, but much closer to one of those teeth imprints] - that could get worse if you walk around too much.
[He could find another healer but he seems so reluctant to do that, she doubts it. Still wearing her concentration face, Mia gets the bandages that Silver's pokémon brought for her and wraps his leg back up.]
Hungry? [Perhaps she is, a little bit, but this is not her house and she will not impose on an injured person.] I'm all right with the water, really. Is it okay if I sit here for a little while?

I'll do what I can for it now. What did this?

Wow that feels good. Seriously. What exactly is she doing? He'll remain attentive and carefully watch what she's doing.]

...Are you okay?
[Action, June 26]
[She puts a hand on Sneasel's head, because he's standing there looking concerned.] I could use a glass of water, if you don't mind too much.

Thank you. [She really didn't have to do that. At all. But she did it while exhausted just to help him out, and... That says a lot.]
[Action, June 26]
He shouldn't put too much weight on it for a week or two, unless it is healed again.
[Action, June 26]
In the meantime-] Are you hungry? Do you want anything? [Yep. That's right. He's fussing.]

Then let's stop arguing about it, I suppose. ...Does it hurt, still?
