....A leader must have, if not the trust of, the respect of the people following them. But that respect must be earned for it to be worth anything. Demanding people follow you does not make a leader.

They also must be willing to listen to the opinions of those around them and plan according to those opinions. No matter how wise the leader, no matter the type, there will always be something to be gained by listening to others. If they choose to force their way with power and position, it could lead to the downfall of them and all those who follow them.
